Location of Al Quba Mosque

Quba Mosque is the 1st mosque in islam and also the 1st mosque in the world.Masjid Quba is located in Saudi Arabia, six kilometers from the village of Quba, west of the city of Madinah. However, a few years later, following Madinah’s growth, Masjid Quba developed into a vital part of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) sacred city and a well-liked location for ziyarat and devotion.

Islamic tradition states that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) spent his first night in Madinah staying in Masjid Quba, where he offered prayers, or salat. Later, the al quba masjid was built on that precise location by Allah’s SWT Messenger (PBUH).

Origins of Al Quba Mosque:

The Al Quba mosque occupies a special place in Islamic history because  the first mosque of islam as it marks the beginning (Hijra) of Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) migration (Hijra) from Mecca to Medina according to the Islamic Conference, the Prophet and his companions declare on Monday twelfth day of Rabi’al Awwal of 1 Aah (622 CE). Brief History of Al Quba Mosque

As the first mosque in the world,the tribe of Bani Amr bin Auf was living in this region when the prophet Muhammad arrived. There was also, supposedly, a water well there at the time, most likely owned by Abu Ayub Ansari.

Tradition says that prophet Muhammad set the mosque’s foundation stones as soon as he arrived in Medina after leaving from Mecca, and his followers finished the construction. It is believed that Prophet Muhammad stayed at this mosque for around fourteen days, offering qaṣr, or brief prayers, as he waited for Ali to reach Medina.

Since it was first constructed during the prophet Muhammad’s lifetime, it has experienced numerous renovations. The first repairs were carried out by Uthman ibn Affan, the third Caliph. However, Omar bin Abdul Aziz, the Caliph, constructed the mosque’s first minaret. In 1043 CE (435 Hijri), Abu Yali al-Husaini restored it once more by building the “Mihrab,” a prayer place.
